RM1 Juta dibayar kepada bekas Boss Ferrari F1 Team

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — The government has allocated RM1 million for former Ferrari Formula One team boss Jean Todt to spend over two years as Malaysia’s Tourism ambassador.

But Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Ng Yen Yen said no disbursements have been made since his appointment in May.

The MCA vice president also denied that Todt has been given any land in Terengganu as part of the deal.

“As far as I know, Todt does not own any land in Terengganu,” she said.

PKR vice president Azmin Ali caused a stir this morning when he demanded a full disclosure of the deal with Todt and his fiancée, Malaysian actress Datuk Michelle Yeoh, claiming that almost RM1 million had already been spent on the Frenchman.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — Azmin Ali demanded in Parliament today a full disclosure of the deal offered to former Ferrari Formula One team boss Datuk Seri Jean Todt for becoming Malaysia’s tourism ambassador.

The Gombak MP alleged that Todt’s annual fees amounted to RM593,400 while he was also paid RM388,000 for his holidays in Malaysia.

Azmin also wanted to know the land premium which had been offered to Todt and his Malaysian fiancée Michelle Yeoh when they built their home in Pulau Besar near Kuala Terengganu.

Todt was given approval this year to participate in the Malaysia My Second Home programme which allows him to buy property and live in Malaysia.

He was also appointed Malaysia’s tourism ambassador, and has pledged to organise familiarisation tours and tap into his wide network of contacts to help promote the country as a tourism destination.
